About Marty Connelly
My love affair with photography began on my twelfth birthday when my parents gave me my first camera, a Kodak Brownie, which I
still own today.
After I returned from Vietnam in 1966, I purchased a Pentax Spotmatic SLR and joined the Westchester Color Camera Club.
Here I learned the finer points of composition and exposure while becoming friends with some of the best amateur photographers in the country. After winning several Salon Awards, I was encouraged to develop my photographic talents further, but rasing my family and running my own business drew me
away from this pursuit. I returned to photography in 1998 when I
was given a Fuji S1 to take pictures of products for the company
catalogue. Not only did this experience revive my enthusiasm for
photography, but it also introduced me to the art of digital imaging
and large format printing. Because I
believe that the future of photography will be entirely digital,
I have embraced this new technology, and now my photographs are taken
with a Nikon D2X digital camera.
I produce archival pigment prints, utilizing the Epson 9800 large
format printer with Ultrachome ink. This process ensures the highest
longevity that will endure the test of time
